The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has extended the last date for applications to join its Virtual Inspection Team (VIT) until August 3, 2026. Eligible academicians and architects can apply through the official NCTE Virtual Inspection Portal to participate in the online inspection of teacher education institutions.

In another significant update, NCTE has reaffirmed that admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2026–27 academic session will be based exclusively on the National Common Entrance Test (NCET).

Introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the ITEP combines subject specialization with professional teacher training, offering integrated degree options such as B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., and B.Com. B.Ed. The programme is part of the ongoing transition
from traditional teacher education courses to multidisciplinary four-year degree programmes.
